The sequel to Gradius moves from a pure side-scrolling shooter to one incorporating both horizontal- and vertical-scrolling stages. Fight off waves of organic enemies while collecting power-up capsules to enhance your ship's capabilities. A total of six power-ups are available, allowing you to increase your speed, add a secondary support ship, activate a force field, or upgrade your basic weapon to more powerful alternatives. Advance through six stages in total, divided equally among the two featured perspectives, to save the galaxy and win the game. Fight alone or team up with a friend for two-player cooperative action.
