Photography Encyclopedia:

Life Library of Photography

Life Library of Photography, a multi-authored, multi-volume publication issued in American and foreign (including UK) versions by Time-Life Books Inc. First to appear was The Camera (1970); other topics included studio, child, and nature photography, photojournalism, special applications, and the conservation of photographs. Each volume contained a historical overview, practical information, and illustrations by outstanding, often Life-associated photographers. A matching series of yearbooks was launched in 1973, and a revised edition of the original books appeared in the 1980s. It remains a valuable resource.
