Stryker test.
PurposeTo test the integrity of knee ligaments.
How it worksThe test isolates and compares the normal joint to the abnormal joint.
PreparationYou lie on an examining table and remain totally relaxed.
Test procedureYou are strapped onto a machine called a ligament tester that applies stress to the knees by moving them back and forth.
After the testYou may return to normal activities.

A doctor examines the results printed on a graph and compares them to normal results.
Advantages- The test accurately documents physical strength of the knee and ligaments, and injury to the cruciate ligaments of the knee.
- It provides quantitative numbers to use for documentation (as required for workmen's compensation.
Exercises are prescribed to strengthen knee ligaments. No other tests are required.
