Lindeman
Norwegian family of musicians. The most important members were Ludvig Mathias (1812-87), an organist and folksong collector who published a chorale book (1878) and folksong collections, particularly Aeldre og nyere norske fjeldmelodier (1853-67); and his son Peter Brynie (1858-1930), with whom he founded the Christiania (Oslo) Conservatory (1883).
