Link Hogthrob

Wikipedia: Link Hogthrob

Link Hogthrob was a fictional character, a Muppet pig on The Muppet Show. The character was that of a stereotypical leading man, with wavy blond hair, a manly cleft chin, and a high opinion of himself, but not much between the ears. Still, he was capable of sweet moments, as when he sang "Sonny Boy" to a piglet in the second season of The Muppet Show.

Jim Henson provided Link Hogthrob's voice. Henson's son, Brian Henson, recalled that his father often used Link's deep-throated, pompous voice when performing some stereotypically-manly chore, such as carving the Thanksgiving turkey. Since Henson's death, Link has remained a non-speaking Muppet. The only time he spoke after Jim Henson's death was for Muppet Party Cruise, where he was voiced by Steve Whitmire (Kermit the Frog's new performer).

He most often appeared in parodies of television genres, most notably as the captain of the USS Swinetrek in the recurring "Pigs in Space" skit, and also in the cop show parody, "Bear on Patrol", as Fozzie Bear's commanding officer.
