(cryogenics) A phase of superfluid helium-3 in which the helium-3 pairs only occur in those two of the three possible nuclear spin states in which the nuclear spins are parallel, and these pairs couple coherently to give macroscopic orbital and spin angular momenta and anisotropic superfluid properties. Also known as A phase.
