The following is a list of episodes for the British crime drama Agatha Christie's Poirot. It first aired on 8 January 1989 and all episodes have aired on ITV1.
All episodes are approximately 50 minutes in length, except those marked 'feature-length', which are approximately 100 minutes.
The shorter episodes are based on Christie's short stories featuring Poirot, many published in the 1920s. The TV adaptations were considerably embellished from the original stories' plots and were set in 1936 instead of the 1920s et al. as is shown by the inclusion of actual historical events such as Fred Perry's win at the French Open and the Jarrow March.[1]
The longer episodes are based on Christie's novels. The chronology of these episodes differs significantly from that of the novels and, as with the shorter episodes, some stories whose book versions were set in other decades are moved to the 1930s.

Remaining Novels
David Suchet has frequently made clear his wish to complete the canon by starring in versions of all the remaining Poirot novels. Following the transmission of the four films contained within the 2010 Season (Series Twelve above), only 6 Poirot stories remain to be produced:
There are 4 novels
- The Big Four (1927) (Which itself was based on a collection of short stories)
- Dead Man's Folly (1956)
- Elephants Can Remember (1972)
- Curtain: Poirot's Last Case (1975)
A collection of 12 short stories
- The Labours of Hercules (1947)
And a play
- Black Coffee (1930)
There are also a number of published Poirot short stories which were later expanded into different ones and for that reason will not be filmed.
- The Market Basing Mystery (1923) - The same plotline was expanded and used for Murder In The Mews
- The Submarine Plans (1923) - Later expanded into The Incredible Theft
- Christmas Adventure (1923) - Later expanded into The Theft Of The Royal Ruby (Or The Adventure Of The Christmas Pudding as it is alternatively known)
- The Mystery Of The Baghdad Chest (1932) - Later expanded into The Mystery Of The Spanish Chest
- The Second Gong (1932) - Later expanded into Dead Man's Mirror
- The Regatta Mystery (1936) - This is not generally known as a Poirot story as it was expanded into the more famous Parker Pyne short story of the same name
Suchet has remarked several times in interviews that only 6 stories remain to be filmed. In the Christmas 2009 issue of the Radio Times he refers to the four novels, The Labours of Hercules and Black Coffee. The absence of the one remaining short story to be filmed (The Lemesurier Inheritance (1923)) from his list has led to speculation as to whether the plot would be incorporated into one of the remaining stories or whether it will be part of the TV series at all.
