Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmarks are those engineering achievements considered to have exceptional historic value by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Although the largest number are in the United States, there are some landmarks in other countries in Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America. The date given is the year that the landmark was built or, in some cases, the or the period in which the landmark was active. Not all of the landmarks still exist or are open to the public.

In addition to recognition as Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmarks, some achievements have been named Mechanical Engineering Heritage Collections (†) or Mechanical Engineering Heritage Sites (‡).

The History and Heritage Manual discusses the Landmark program.[1] The current list of achievements and the application form are available.[2][3]
