1 The state of Jammu and Kashmir is the Indian-administered part of the disputed Kashmir region. India claims the Kashmir region in its entirety, the highest point of which is the K2 mountain (8611 m) located in the Northern Areas administered by Pakistan. Saltoro Kangri within the disputed Indian administered Kashmir is also claimed by Pakistan.
