- 336 - Piedmont Triad and the northwest Piedmont region
- 704 - Charlotte metropolitan area (overlaid with 980)
- 828 - Western & Mountainous region of the state
- 910 - South Coastal Plain region in the southeast corner of the state
- 919 - The Research Triangle metropolitan region
- 980 - Charlotte metropolitan area (overlaid with 704)
- 984 - This area code is scheduled to provide overlay relief to code 919 but no date has been assigned for this to go into effect.
