Main parties authorized inside Iran
Only Islamist parties can operate inside the Islamic regime. They are separated between two factions : the Conservatives (Extremist and ultra-religious right-wing parties) and the Reformists (moderate religious right-wing parties).

- Freedom Movement Party led by Ebrahim Yazdi. Reformist
- National Front of Iran led by Adib Boroumand. Nationalist (mostly based outside Iran but the central body is in Tehran)
Main parties banned in Iran (operating covertly inside Iran)
- Constitutionalist Party of Iran (CPI) led by Darius Homayoun. Liberal Democrats (close to the Prince Reza Pahlavi)
- Organization of Iranian People's Fedaian (Majority) led by Behrouz Khaliq. Social Democrats
- People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran led by Maryam Rajavi. Religious Left
