Political parties in Kenya lists political parties in Kenya. Kenya has a system comparable with a two-party system, since there are two dominant political parties c.q. coalitions, with extreme difficulty for anybody to achieve electoral success under the banner of any other party. It is a multi-party system, since one the ruling coalition consists out of several parties.
Kenya had over 160 registered political parties, as of November 2007 [1] but following the implelentation of The Political Parties act on 31st December 2008, the number of fully registered parties fell to 38 with several others receiveing partial recognition until they could comply with the act[2][3]
