Sudan has several political parties which have very little political power, except the two ruling partners, the National Congress and the SPLM. Opposition political parties are allowed, but are widely considered to have no chance of gaining influence.

All the parties are represented in the Interim National Assembly as well as the Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly.
