List of world expositions

Wikipedia: List of world expositions
The statue of the Republic overlooks the Court of Honor and Grand Basin of the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago

List of world expositions is an annotated list of every world exposition sanctioned by the Bureau of International Expositions (BIE), including those recognised retrospectively.

The designation "World Exposition" or "Expo" refers to a class of the largest, general scope exhibitions of 3 to 6 months' duration.

For other major international exhibitions, in addition to those endorsed by the BIE, see the comprehensive list at List of world's fairs.
