Review

Liquorice's debut is winning in its sparsely articulated songs. Dan Littleton (Ida) sings lead on one track, but it is Jenny Toomey (Tsunami and Grenadine, among others) who handles the lion's share of the vocals, and her subtle voice (recorded by Warren Defever of His Name is Alive) that makes these songs memorable past the first listen. Two well chosen covers (including the Roches' "Jill of All Trades") supplement this collection of songs that allow Toomey to utilize her voice in a new largely acoustic setting. ~ Peter Stepek, All Music Guide
