Bluestime's second album Little Car Blues is a dynamite blues-rock workout from J. Geils and Magic Dick. Both Geils and Magic have grown in their musicianship since their days in the J. Geils Band -- there's more depth and texture in their performances here than than in any of their latter-day records with the band. Bluestime could use a frontman as powerful as Peter Wolf, but musically speaking, it's hard to argue with Little Car Blues. ~ Thom Owens, All Music Guide
