Forsyth County Schools is a public school district in Forsyth County, Georgia based in Cumming, Georgia. FCS is home to over 32,200 students in 35 schools.[1]

History
The Forsyth County School System has served the educational needs of Forsyth County since 1860.[2]
Schools
FCS is home to 35 schools: 6 high (includes one non-traditional charter school), 9 middle, 19 elementary schools, and one alternative school. The district is the largest employer in the county with over 4,500 employees. Five new schools were opened in August, 2009: Lambert High School, Lakeside Middle School, Brookwood Elementary School, Haw Creek Elementary School, and Whitlow Elementary School. FCS consistently has some of the highest test scores in the state, leading this year with not only CRCT results, but ACT and SAT results.
Technology
Classrooms are technologically-advanced, as the school system places a heavy emphasis on being on the cutting edge of new technology and methods of teaching. All classrooms feature Promeathean SmartBoard technology (the largest single installation in the world)and at least 4 desktop computers per classroom, as well as multiple wireless carts with notebook computers.[3][4] Beginning in the 2009 school year all middle and high schools will have biometric scanning technology to access meal account in the lunchrooms.[4] The school system even has a twitter account which can be followed at http://twitter.com/FCSchoolsGA.

Board of Education
The Board of Education is the governing body of the school system. Members are elected by the public to represent 1 of 5 districts to which they will serve 4 year terms that are staggered. [5]
