Review

Big Head Todd and the Monsters have always been a great live band and this EP shows why. The song selection is short, with only three songs included here, but the keepsake from the 1993 H.O.R.D.E. tour runs over 20 minutes. No BHT show is complete without "Bittersweet" and the nearly seven-minute version is great. "Circle," which also is available on Sister Sweetly, is solid. The highlight of the disc is the cover of the Sly and the Family Stone hit "Everyday People," which is slowed down and bluesy. Recorded with "absolutely no overdubs" the Big Head Todd and the Monsters Live EP is absolutely essential for fans of the band and is a good, low-priced introduction for the uninitiated. ~ JT Griffith, All Music Guide
