Game Character:

Lokasenna

Character Bio

BACKGROUND

An ex-administrator to her Martian homeworld's government, Lokasenna is now trapped forever in a body of metal and silicon. As she worked diligently in a mining facility for her government, she was slowly exposed to radiation that would threaten her life. As she continued working, she was introduced to a rogue band of cult members calling themselves the "Pro:Borg." These particular individuals believed that mankind's only next evolutionary step would come with the joining of mind and machine. Lokasenna was disgusted by their "prophecy," but she remained in contact with them in the mines.

As the radiation destroyed her body, Lokasenna had but one choice but to let the Pro:Borg go to work or die. The group placed her brain inside of an advanced robot body and covered it with a generic skin material. The process left her a little scatterbrained and she quickly quit her job, knowing this fake skin could never fool her coworkers and friends. Lokasenna became a roaming mercenary, up for a few contract jobs every now and again, but mostly a free-roaming scavenger looking for her eternal destiny.

She lost the skin on her right arm in one of her first battles and now tells everyone she meets that it is a prosthetic arm to cover up her Pro:Borg affiliation. She navigates the Terran system scoping out the remaining space junk and claiming whatever she needs or can put to good use. Her pioncycle is a true speed-monster that only a robotic body could handle. It has only a small windshield and requires Lokasenna to straddle the bike and hold on for dear life. Her weapon power is fairly weak, though, and she can't carry as much ammo as she sometimes needs, often forcing her to abandon her claim from time to time. Of course, she'll usually sneak back, steal it and be gone before anyone even has time to see her.

THE FORSAKEN HISTORY

After mankind acknowledged the existence of alien life, defenses were needed. The military journeyed out into the universe to colonize other worlds while defenses were set up in our own galaxy. Devastating minefields, rogue satellites, and computer-controlled networks of defense craft roamed the Milky Way. But then it happened. The world was destroyed, not by an alien force -- but by our own arrogance and stupidity.

In 2113 scientists were peeling back the layers of matter, delving deeper and smaller into the underlying structure of our own earthly composition. Believing they had the power to control and manipulate the very basics of matter, scientists began experimenting with the technology. It was only a matter of days before the inevitable happened. Something went wrong and the sub-microscopic meddling unleashed a ravenous fusion reaction that sent shockwaves throughout the entire galaxy. Most planets were simply scorched while Earth was cracked and dismantled, sent reeling off of its axis as it spun and rotated in unheard of directions at unbelievable speeds. What humans were left on the planet quickly died out after the atmosphere eroded, and the sun's violent radiation cascaded what remained of the Terran homeworld.

Word of the devastation finally reached the High Senators of the Imperial Theocracy, the ruling body over the unified universes. Reluctantly, an armada of ships left to investigate the tragedy and unravel just what had happened to Earth. What was left had been pillaged, and the entire galaxy was marked "condemned." With only a small army of robots patrolling the surface of Earth and even fewer unmanned ships in the galaxy, pirates, bounty hunters, refugees and all manner of space scum gained a free run of the system. Some come and go; others stay -- but they all take what they want. Battles take place almost daily across the scorched solar system with warriors battling on pioncycles, small one-man hover vehicles armed to the teeth with guns, missiles and mines. The only goal in these battles is to claim what pitiful resources remain on the planet's surface. ~ Shawn Sackenheim, All Game Guide
