Biography

Lottie is a British house DJ who became quite famous in her homeland around the turn of the century. Born Charlotte Horne in Chester, England, she first established herself on the British dance scene in 1996 when she was chosen as a weekly resident of The Gallery, then one of London's top club nights. Toward the end of the decade she emerged as a producer with The Sound (1999), a 12" release on Duty Free Recordings, along with The Yob (1999), a co-production with Malcolm Duffy as Tribal Truble on Remote Recordings. Also in 1999, she was honored as Best Newcomer by Musik magazine. A few mix CDs followed -- 7 Live #2 (2000) on DMC, Snapshot (2001) on React, The True Sound of...Ibiza Nights (2002) on Musik -- along with the founding of Missdemeanours Music, a boutique label co-founded with friend Caroline Prothero (and originally a dance night founded in 1998). Lottie co-produced the inaugural Missdemeanours release, Booty Shake/Bad Bitch (2003), with friends Steve Mac and Mutiny under the alias Aficionados; she later produced Supakilla (2004) for the label. Lottie then receded from the spotlight for a few years before returning to the DJ circuit in the latter half of the decade. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
