Biography
Born to Puerto Rican and Cuban parents. Perez is a most underated musician in that very few people know of his musical genious. He's a composer and cracker-jack arranger who began studying music in 1945. He has recorded 15 albums, all for dancers only. What makes Perez special is his rich imagination which is evident in three outstanding LPs. Movie star Patrick Swayze became a star after dancing to Perez's "De Todo un Poco" in the box office hit Dirty Dancing. A Lou Perez album is a collector's item. ~ Max Salazar, All Music Guide
