Lamoricière, Christophe Léon Louis Juchault de (krēstôf' lāôN' lwē zhüshō' də lämôrēsyĕr'), 1806-65, French general. Important in the conquest of Algeria, he distinguished himself at the head of his celebrated Zouaves and received (1847) the submission of Abd al-Kader.
