Louis Le roy

 

Le roy, Louis (c.1510-1577). French humanist scholar, professor of Greek at the Collège Royal in 1572, who utilized his own translations of Plato and Aristotle in his voluminous political and historical writings; his masterwork is De la vicissitude ou variété des choses en l'univers (1576), a pioneering work on cyclical change in cultural history.
