Louis Zorich

 

Zorich, Louis (b. 1924), character actor. A seasoned performer with a warm and easygoing persona, Zorich was born in Chicago and educated at Roosevelt College and the Goodman Theatre School, arriving in New York in 1959 where he played supporting roles for years. Zorich was first singled out in 1969 for his worldly wise Cardinal Ragna in Hadrian VII, but still he continued to be cast in secondary parts. In 1971 he and his wife, actress Olympia Dukakis, founded the Whole Theatre Company in New Jersey.
