Jack Hylton led one of England's most popular dance bands during the 1920s and '30s. Lovable and Sweet is a collection of 18 recordings waxed for the HMV label between January 1929 and September 1931. Closely following all of the trends in North American jazz and pop music, Hylton handled substantial material like "On the Sunny Side of the Street" and Fats Waller's "Ain't Misbehavin'," along with such lightweight numbers as "Tip Toe Thru the Tulips" and "When I Take My Sugar to Tea." Within the digital Hylton discography, this collection should be regarded as a special treat for those who want to obtain and digest as much Hylton as humanly possible. ~ arwulf arwulf, All Music Guide
