Plot

Pert Shirley Mason is the brightest spark in this Fox comedy-melodrama. Besse Belwin (Mason) works as a stenographer for district attorney John Mobley (Albert Roscoe). It doesn't take long for Mobley to fall in love with his cute little employee and he proposes. Besse doesn't reveal that her father (Joseph W. Girard) has a criminal past which he has since renounced. But a former associate of Belwin's remembers all and threatens to reveal it. In order to save her father's name, Besse is forced to help the crook pull off a heist. The crime is never solved, and Besse and Mobley go ahead with their wedding. For months, a perplexed Mobley investigates the crime, never finding any clues, while Besse finds herself in a number of embarrassing situations. The crook tries to force Besse into helping him again, and finally she confesses to her husband. The crime is solved, and Besse welcomes some long-overdue domestic tranquility. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
