Lower Silesian Voivodeship (also "Lower Silesia Province" — Polish: województwo dolnośląskie) is a voivodeship, or province, with its capital at Wrocław, on the middle Odra (Oder) River, in southwestern Poland. It comprises Lower Silesia, the northwestern part of the historic and geographic region of Silesia.
The province was created January 1, 1999, out of the former Wrocław, Legnica, Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra Voivodeships, pursuant to the 1998 Local Government Reorganization Act.
The voivodeship has 91 cities and towns, including 3 cities with county status (urban counties). They are listed below, ordered by population (at December 31, 2005):

Many tourists visit the famous ski resorts in the Karkonosze mountains, particularly Szklarska Poręba and Karpacz. The cities of Wrocław, Jelenia Góra and Legnica are also popular destinations. The town of Kudowa Zdrój, located in the Sudety Mountains, about 35 km west of Kłodzko near the Czech border, is a spa town well-known throughout Europe, popular with visitors with heart problems. Kudowa's origins go back to the 15th century.
