Luck of Geraldine Laird

  • Release Year: 1920

Plot

This routine programmer was based on a story by then-popular author Kathleen Norris. Geraldine Laird (Bessie Barriscale) and her husband Dean (Niles Welch) move in with her mother. Dean finds himself in over his head trying to support the household, and Geraldine doesn't seem to care about his writing aspirations. So when Kennedy Bond, a Broadway play broker (Dorcas Matthews), comes to town and feeds Dean's ego, he decides to follow her to New York. Geraldine goes after him, but when she and her husband can't reconcile, she is forced to find a way to make a living. Her struggles eventually land her in the chorus of a show, and she winds up becoming a successful actress. Dean, on the other hand, is a failure as a playwright. One night he goes to the theater to find his wife performing on stage. Finally the couple make up and begin their life together once more. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
