Review
Lucky Numbers, Nora Ephron's black comedy about rigging the state lottery, was a disappointment, but the film's soundtrack featuring a collection of pop tunes from the '80s is considerably more entertaining. The Cars' "Moving in Stereo," Animotion's "Obsession," Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes," Queen's "We Are the Champions," and Blondie's "Rapture" are some of the highlights from this collection, which also includes songs from Rickie Lee Jones, Kiss, Grace Jones, Aerosmith, and Bob Seger. One of those rare soundtracks that actually works better outside of the film's context, Lucky Numbers is an enjoyable enough album in its own right. ~ Heather Phares, All Music GuideTracks
