Lucy Clare Davis (born 2 January 1973) is an English actress. She is best known for playing the character Dawn Tinsley in the BBC comedy The Office.
Davis played Maria Lucas in the BBC's 1995 production of Pride and Prejudice. She has also appeared in the film Sex Lives of the Potato Men (2004), had a role in Shaun of the Dead (2004), and played Hayley Jordan in The Archers on BBC Radio 4. She gave up the latter role when her other acting responsibilities made it impossible to continue; the part was recast in September 2005.
She was reportedly offered a role in In Her Shoes that eventually went to Toni Collette. Davis apparently refused the role as it involved being Cameron Diaz's on-screen 'fat, ugly' sister.[1]
In 2006, Davis appeared as the 'Fashion TV' host on ABC's hit Ugly Betty, and later that year was cast as a British comedy writer in NBC's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. In 2008, she began a recurring role on the US series Reaper.

Personal life
Davis is the daughter of comedian Jasper Carrott (real name Robert Davis). She attended King Edward VI High School for Girls, and The Sixth Form College in Solihull, West Midlands.
She underwent a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with kidney failure during a physical leading up to her role in Pride & Prejudice. Her mother, Hazel, donated the kidney.[2] Around Christmas 2005 she was hospitalised once again due to kidney failure, but has since recovered. Davis is also a diabetic.[3]
On 9 December, 2006, Davis married fellow actor Owain Yeoman at St Paul's Cathedral, London. The wedding was attended by fellow The Office stars, Mackenzie Crook, Martin Freeman, Ewen Macintosh, Joel Beckett and co-writer and co-director Stephen Merchant. Davis and Yeoman were permitted to marry there as her father, Jasper Carrott, was awarded an OBE in the New Year's Honours in 2002.[4]
She participated at the Peta's campaign "Bare Skin not Bear skin!"[5]
