Ludim

Bible Guide: Ludim

Son of Mizraim, a descendant of Ham (Gen 10:13; I Chr 1:11). In Jeremiah 46:9 and Ezekiel 27:10; 30:5, Ludim is listed among African nations, leading to the suggestion that it is an unidentified African nation which some scholars emend to Lubim – Libyans. Most scholars identify the Ludim with Lud and the people as the Lydians.

Concordance
Gen 10:13. I Chr 1:11

Ludim is the Hebrew term for Lydia used in Jeremiah and Ezekiel. In the Biblical Table of Nations they were said to descend from Lud, son of Shem, son of Noah. According to Josephus, their land was destroyed.

These Ludim should not be confused with another group also named Ludim who were descended from Mizraim. This is sometimes thought to be a typographic error for Lubim, in reference to Libyans.
