Luigi

Luigi (orig. Eugene Louis Facciuto;b Steubenville, Ohio, 20 Mar. 1925). US dancer and teacher. He studied with Bolm, Nijinska, Loring, and others and between 1949 and 1961 danced in theatres, films, night-clubs, and television productions, developing a distinctive jazz style in which the head was thrown back and the upper half of the body exaggeratedly stretched upwards. He began to teach in New York in 1955 where his classes dominated the jazz scene for the following decade.
