The Lumeneo SMERA is an altra-small Battery electric vehicle (BEV). It is a two-seater which tilts up to 25° in curves. With a length of 2m40 and width of 80cm, it is something between an electric car and a scooter and includes lithium ion battery pack. It is homologated in Europe as a car (classification M1). Its speed is announced to be of 130 km/h (80 mph) with a range of 150 km (90 miles).[1] It made its debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

French railroad company SNCF has invested 1.5 million euros in Lumeneo. the French railway reportedly injected capital into Green Cove Engineering, a provider of carpooling services. [2]

Lumeneo is currently available only in Paris France, at a starting price of 24,500 euros (about $33,000 US) after deduction of the 5,000 euros environmental state subsidy.[3] The company's website states that it will be establishing dealers across Europe in 2010.[2]
