Álvaro Negredo Sánchez (born 20 August 1985 in Madrid) is a Spanish football striker for UD Almería.
He also played for Rayo Vallecano, and wore no. 42 in Real Madrid's first team.
In 2005-06 year he played as a partner with Roberto Soldado, scoring a couple of goals. The following season he became the star of Castilla and showed the ability to play as a striker rather than in supporting roles such as a winger or a second striker. He impressed the first team's coach Fabio Capello and was called for Real’s matches in the Copa del Rey, but stayed unused on the bench. Finally, he made his debut for the first team in their friendly match against Atlético Madrid, and showed his speed, skills, and dribbling ability.
