Lycée Français

given to a private school belonging to a network of over 400 schools worldwide. The Lycées provide an education based on the French national
Each school is accredited both locally and by the French Ministry of Education, and some receive substantial financial support from the French Government. Pedagogical direction is provided by the Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Étranger (Agency for International French Education) under the guidance of the French Ministry of Education.
The Lycées provide a challenging education leading to a baccalauréat. Lycée students have access to all other French schools at their own educational level.
In addition, the Lycées have a curriculum linked to the individual countries in which they are established. The Lycée Français La Pérouse, for example, is located in the state of California in the United States and includes American History and English Literature in its program. Students from this school and other schools in the American section are qualified to enter an American school at or above their grade level, and are fully prepared to enter European or North American colleges and universities.
Lycées Français are located throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa.
Most of their pupils are children of French expatriates but they also include many regular pupils attracted by the quality of schooling provided.
