Plot

In this opening episode of M*A*S*H's second season, Hawkeye (Alan Alda) is temporarily appointed the commanding officer of the 4077th. Now that he has to deal with the many burdens and responsibilities usually shouldered by Col. Potter (Harry Morgan), Hawk undergoes a profound metamorphosis from his self-described "cringing chicken" persona.
