Connections with The Bill

The series is a spin-off from the long running series The Bill and the first episode featured the team investigating the drive-by shooting of one of The Bill's popular characters, Sgt. Matt Boyden. Several members of The Bill's cast also appeared in the episode.

DC Eva Sharpe (Diane Parish) joined the show for series 2, transferring from The Bill.

Production

There were eight one-hour episodes in the first series. Produced by Tom Cotter, the series starred Samantha Spiro, Lindsey Coulson, Richard Hope and Steven Pacey, with guest appearances from Gary Kemp (of Spandau Ballet) and Paul Bown (who previously appeared from 1987 to 1993 with Emma Wray and Liza Tarbuck in the ITV sitcom called Watching).

A second series consisting of four 90-minute episodes was commissioned and filmed, and although the series was shown in Australia in February 2005, its UK broadcast was delayed until July 2005.

Like The Bill, it was filmed in the London Borough of Greenwich and locations included the Former Woolwich campus of the University of Greenwich.

In September 2005, The Sun reported that ITV would not be commissioning another series.[1]
