Mac Dashboard

 

A launching pad for mini applications (widgets) in the Mac. Introduced with Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), the Mac comes with several Dashboard widgets such as a dictionary, stock ticker, language translator and currency/measurement converter. Dashboard Widgets
When the Mac Dashboard is invoked, the desktop and all open windows become grayed in the background, and the widgets become visible.
