Review: Enjoyment
There is something here for everyone, and each game is worthy of many hours of game play. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game GuideReview: Overall
The Mac Value Pack #1 has six games to offer the buyer. Three are full games, and three are limited games called "Interactive Previews" on the box. These previews generally encompass a small area of the full game, such as Descent: Lunar Base 1, which only covers the first three mine levels of the game. The Legend of Kyrandia is an adventure game in which the player takes on the role of a deposed monarch who is trying to regain his throne. He or she must wander the kingdom, interacting with strange and sometimes menacing characters to find the items that will allow him to ascend the throne once more.
Caesars Palace lets players deal with the big boys in 15 casino-style games, including Roulette, Poker, Blackjack, 7-Card Stud and Video Keno. The rules of each game are explained in depth as well as how to bet and what each bet pays.
Ishido, the oriental "game of stones" is a tile game played on themed boards with various colored and marked tiles. Two players can compete against each other or one player can play against the computer.
In Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster, you are the monster. Your last memory is of being hung, but somehow you are alive. Your inventor, played by Tim Curry, taunts you with knowledge of your existence before, but you must explore to learn the truth.
In Descent: Lunar Base 1 you are a pilot hired by a large company to destroy the alien-reprogrammed mining robots that have taken over the company mines. In addition, you must rescue any humans you find in the mines and destroy the mines by setting off the reactor core, then running to the exit before the reactor blows.
In Dungeon Master II: Legend of Skullkeep- The First Chapter, you must assemble a group of heroes from those kept in stasis in the tower, make your way to the market by fighting the glops and buy weapons and armor to outfit your group. You must then find a way into the Dungeon and survive the monsters there.
Each of the games are very good and entertaining, and anybody buying the game will find something to enjoy among the games. If you truly enjoy one of the interactive previews, it might be worth it for you to buy the full game. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
