Machynlleth railway station is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in mid-Wales, serving the historic town of Machynlleth. It was built by the Newtown & Machynlleth Railway, and subsequently passed into the ownership of the Cambrian Railways, the Great Western Railway, British Railways (Western Region) and British Railways (London Midland Region).

The station was also served by the narrow gauge Corris Railway, which had its own station building on the north side of the main-line goods yard, accessible by a flight of steps from the standard gauge platform. Waggish porters were known to call out "Platform 14 for Corris" when greeting arriving passengers.

Machynlleth is the location where up trains from Pwllheli and Aberystwyth combine to go forward as one towards Birmingham New Street. Down trains from Birmingham New Street divide here too.

The present service in each direction is approximately two hourly. The Welsh Assembly has commissioned an investigation to double the frequency of Aberystwyth to Birmingham New Street trains.

Machynlleth is the place where the Cambrian Line signalling is controlled from. The new Signalling Center for the ERTMS is being built opposite the present Signal Box.

There is also a small depot for DMUs by the station run by Arriva.
