Mackay City Council is a Local Government Area (LGA) in north Queensland, Australia. The LGA covers the urban locality of Mackay and the surrounding suburbs, including Brampton Island and Lindeman Island.
The Council was formed as a result of the amalgamation of Pioneer Shire Council and the former Mackay City Council in April 1994.[1]
