Mackenzie brush technique
A method of collecting samples from the haircoat, particularly of cats, for diagnosis of dermatophytosis. A sterile toothbrush is used to brush the hair thoroughly and is then pressed onto a plate or slant of Sabouraud's agar and incubated.
