"Madison Blues" is a blues song recorded by singer/guitarist Elmore James. It appears on the albums The Sky is Crying[2] and Whose Muddy Shoes?[3] (1969). The song was covered by George Thorogood and the Destroyers on their eponymous first album (1977), on the 1986 album Thorogood Live and at the Philadelphia Live Aid concert. Fleetwood Mac's 1969 cover of the song with Willie Dixon and J. T. Brown appears on the albums Blues Jam at Chess[4] and Fleetwood Mac in Chicago/Blues Jam in Chicago, Vols. 1–2. Their 1970 live performance was also included on the triple CD Madison Blues Live, released in 1994.[5]

It has been suggested that The Beatles song, "For You Blue" on the album Let it Be was modelled on "Madison Blues", since part way through George Harrison is heard to chuckle "Elmore James' got nothing on this baby!". However, although the keys are the same, the songs are not significantly similar.[6]
