Madison Media Institute, a Media Arts College is a private for-profit college with its main campus located in Madison, Wisconsin and a branch location in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Degree programs are focused on the entertainment and media industry. The school offers associate and baccalaureate degree programs in video, music production, game design, media technology, graphic design, web and entertainment.

Owned by American Higher Education Development Corporation, the school is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology.

History

Madison Media Institute was established in 1969 by Ray Szmanda as Trans-American School of Broadcasting with programs that prepared graduates for jobs in radio broadcasting. Over the years the college added a broader range of programs to reflect the changes in the media field.

The college's founder, Ray Szmanda, was the owner from 1969 to 1986. In 1986 Szmanda sold the college to Ed Hutchings, a career broadcaster who owned the school from 1986 to 2007. In August 2007 the Hutchings family sold the college to American Higher Education Development Corporation, a New York company.

In 2010 the Media College added a branch campus in Minneapolis, Minnesota in a historic recording studio where students can learn the art of music production and recording. The Minneapolis campus also offers a program in game art and animation.
