Maes Howe Group

A regional group of developed passage grave defined by Audrey Henshall. Centred on Orkney in the far north of Scotland, the group is named after the type-site of Maes Howe, Orkney, UK. About twelve examples are known, characterized by their large rectangular chambers, small side cells leading off the main chamber, restricted entrances to the side cells, and long narrow approach passages.
