Magadino is a municipality in the district of Locarno in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Demographics
As of December 2007[update], Magadino had a population of 1604.[1]
Location
On 25 November 2007, nine communities along the southern shore of the Lago Maggiore agreed to form a new political municipality which will be known as Gambarogno. The nine were Caviano, Contone, Gerra (Gambarogno), Indemini, Magadino, Piazzogna, San Nazzaro, Sant'Abbondio und Vira (Gambarogno).
The Ticino River enters the Lago Maggiore near Magadino. Magadino consists of two sections, the Dorf Magadino (Magadino Village) along the Lago Maggiore and the Quartino located further east.
The neighboring municipalities are Contone and Vira (Gambarogno).
