Mahlon

Bible Guide: Mahlon

One of the two sons born to Elimelech and Naomi in Bethlehem. As a result of a famine west of the Jordan the entire family went to live in Moab. After the death of Elimelech, Mahlon married the Moabite woman Ruth (Ruth 4:10) and his brother married another Moabite woman. Both Mahlon and Chilion died in Moab and when Naomi returned to her Bethlehem home, Mahlon's widow, Ruth, insisted on accompanying her.
