Early farming communities occupying the north coast of Colombia in the 1st millennium bc and early 1st millennium ad, named after the type–site of Malambo south of Barranquilla on the Gulf Coast of Colombia. Characterized by pottery with distinctive incised, punctuated, and adorno (appliqué) modelled decoration.
