Mallku Caballero (born 1963) was previously a Director of the Board and CTO at Babel Networks Ltd. where he led the development of Babelgum, a P2P technology web-TV platform. Caballero has established and led technology divisions in several start-ups and medium-sized companies in the areas of finance, Internet media publishing, and consumer software. As a co-founder and Chief Scientist in the mid-nineties at White Pine Software, the producer of CU-SeeMe, he is a pioneer in IP videoconferencing[1]

Biography

After graduating with an MSc in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, Mallku Caballero co-founded a French startup which through various merger and acquisition stages became White Pine Software where he acted as a Chief Scientist in the development of CU-SeeMe. He then joined Worldsport Networks in its early stage as the VP Engineering and established a comprehensive platform for aggregating the online rights of GAISF - the General Association of International Sports Federations - members. In 2001, Caballero joined Trema as a consultant before being offered the position of CTO, leading the development of financial risk management systems used by the European Central Bank, most European national central banks and several Fortune 100 companies. In 2006, Caballero was recruited by Silvio Scaglia to work on the Babelgum project, a global Internet television start-up which had already carried out 12 months of research and prototyping.
