Biography

Germany's Malory impressed many when they first unveiled their layered, provocative brand of luscious rock. Their debut, Not Here, Not Now, was released in 2000. First released in Europe, and reissued by Clairecords in the States, the album impressed listeners around the world with their guitar effects and Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine-influenced showmanship. The follow-up Outerbeats was released in 2001 by Alison Records and Solar3d Records in Germany, and Clairecords stateside, complete with a bonus track. With the second disc, the band showed they were still willing to take risks, adding more effects and samples the second time around. Singers Jordis Marschner and Joerg Kohler performed many impressive vocals throughout Outerbeats, making Malory stand out on the alt rock landscape. The Wake Up single followed in early 2002. ~ Stephen Cramer, All Music Guide
